Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2012 Honda CR-V, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Fuse Bypass Switch. So whenever you're setting up a flat tow, for me, I would want to really streamline everything and make it as simple as possible. And, this small switch here is going to help you achieve that. Hello everybody, Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer.com, we install, test and review a lot of different products to help you, as a customer, make a more educated decision before your purchase.Today we're going to be working on a 2015 Honda Fit, and we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster FuseMaster. So you might be asking yourself, "Why do I need a FuseMaster" or, "What is a FuseMater" In short-term, the FuseMaster is simply pulling the fuse without actually doing it. It's easy as a flip of a switch. So you don't actually have to pull that fuse every time you want a flat tow. And it is required, because we do have to pull a fuse to flat tow our Honda every time we hook up. more

Clayton: Hello, everyone. Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer.com, we install, test, and review a lot of different products to help you as a customer make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today, I have a 2011 Honda CRV we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install the Roadmaster FuseMaster fuse bypass. Our fuse bypass is simply going to deactivate a fuse when we're flat towing, that way our radio isn't pulling power or, for whichever vehicle you're flat towing, just flipping this switch is going to essentially pull that fuse out. That way we manually don't have to pull that fuse out every time we're flat towing. So it's going to keep that power draw from happening when we are flat towing for a long period of time. more

Clayton: Hello, everyone, Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how we installed Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kit on our 2020 Honda Accord. Now, our diode kit is going to allow us to use our RV's turn, stop and tail light signals and send those back to our vehicle. Now, we always have to travel with lighting on the back of our vehicle, and the diode kits are a great option because we don't have to have any magnetic lights or anything sticking on the back of our Accord. We also won't to have to use a bulb and socket kit, so we don't have to drill into our factory tail light housing. And in this case, we didn't have a whole lot of extra room, so the bulb and socket kit wouldn't have worked. Our diode wiring is one of the key components in our flat towing setup. We have, of course, our diode wiring, our safety cables, our tow bar and our base plate. more

Clayton: Hello everyone. Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install the Blue Ox Fuse Bypass on our 2014 Honda CRV.You might be wondering why do I need a fuse bypass They really come in handy because you don't have to pull that micro fuse every time that we want to flat tow. And the reason we'd have to pull it is because when we're flat towing our vehicle, it'll run down on a battery. So using that fuse bypass simply turns off that fuse and keeps our battery from dying when we're flat towing. And part of our fuse bypass is going to be this handy-dandy switch. I mounted it right here in our little cubby. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2013 Honda CR-V

Rob: Rob here etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo Wiring Kit. Now, whenever we're flat towing our CR-V, obviously we need to get those signals to the back. So whether we're changing lanes or slowing down and stopping, or if we're driving at night, we need to have those signals back here so everybody can see us and we can safely and legally get down the road. But you can see, I have the lights on my motor home and the turn signal going, and we're actually being sent all the way back to our CR-V. And our diodes are going to allow us to use our factory taillights and use the signals so they come through, rather than having to use those magnetic lights. I know we've all seen them where there's just magnetic lights that you stick on top of the roof or somewhere on the body, and you run that wire up to the front to hook up to the back of the motor home. Now they do work, but that's one extra step that we have to take wherever we tow, not to mention when we get where we're going, we have to take them off so we can drive our CR-V. more

Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch Installation - 2013 Honda CR-V

Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster FuseMaster fuse bypass on our 2013 Honda CRV. Now, whenever we're flat towing our CR-V behind our motor home, get everything hooked up, but then if you look at our owner's manual, they're going to require us to pull a fuse before we start towing. Now fortunately, the fuse is going to be on the inside and underneath the dash here, but that means we're going to have to get down on her knees, get underneath the dash, try to find that fuse, pull it out and find somewhere to keep it, hold it inside the car, then once we get where we're going, we're going to put the fuse back in. Just seems like a lot of a hassle, so many extra steps we're going to have to do. With our FuseMaster fuse bypass, it's going to be as easy as just flipping a switch. And once we get our CRV, we have it all hooked up with our tow bar and all the other components, then we get in here and put it into tow mode. But if you look at the dash up here, we're going to have a radio, it's still going to be on and that's the fuse they want us to pull. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2009 Honda Fit, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you show to install the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-154.Now whenever we're towing out Fit behind our motor home, our diode doesn't allow us to have this signal transferred into the factor lights. So when we're driving down the road, everyone knows whether we're stopping of changing lanes. Not only are the diodes gonna transfer that signal, but they're also gonna protect our vehicles wiring from any kind of back feeding that may arise in the motor home end. One of the best things about our diodes is that it's gonna be a permanent, one-time installation. We're not gonna have to worry about those magnetic lights that you typically see, running the wire from the back, all the way to the front of the vehicle and having to worry about scratches when we're driving down the road. So now that we've seen how our diodes work, let's show you how to get 'em installed. Now to begin your installation, you're gonna wanna start at the front, and we have a spot on our baseplate that's gonna mount our electrical connector to, so I made sure to leave myself enough excess. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2007 Honda CR-V

Speaker 1: Today on our 2007 Honda CRV we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster diode seven wire to six wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267. This is what you're gonna get in your kit, you're gonna get your umbilical cord, your wiring, some wire loom, your diodes, your six pole connector, the bracket to attach it, zip ties, and some other hardware to get it installed. Now your diodes if you look on the front it's gonna have an in and an out, what your diodes are gonna do is they're gonna keep any back feed from your RV going into your factory wiring on your vehicle and vice versa. A few additional things you may want to pick up is a heat shrink butt connector that we're gonna trade out for this one, some dielectric grease, some silicone, and some electrical tape. Now I'll show you how to get this installed. The first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna take our wiring and we're gonna start here at the front of the vehicle, I'm gonna feed this back behind the grill and I'm gonna drop it down right down here in the front. Take this and we're just gonna take some black electrical tape and we're gonna tape it right there.Next up here in the engine compartment I'm actually gonna take a coil of this and I'll leave it in here. Now this customer's not gonna be getting a braking system at this time however in the future if they decide to put a braking system in here it's gonna have to tie into these wires so we're gonna leave a coiled up bunch here for now then we can come back up and zip tie them somewhere a little bit later. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2006 Honda CR-V

Speaker 1: Today on this 2006 Honda CRV, we're gonna review and install the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-154.Let's go ahead and cover the parts that come with the kit. First off, the hard of the matter is gonna be these diodes right here, which will take your signal from a RV and put it towards your taillights. We've got four of these guys right here, two for running light circuits, and one for our left turn and break, and right turn and break. Now, you want this kit anytime you wanna add power from your RV, when you're towing your car. This way, when you use diodes, every time you send power from your RV to these diodes it goes automatically to your taillights, and doesn't back feed to any part of your car, potentially causing damage.Next up, we got our terminals here, that fit onto the tabs that will hook into our wiring. Over here we have this cord that will go between your RV and your towed vehicle, and it has 4-pole flat on both ends, plus a cover built in on both ends. more

Today on our 2010 Honda Odyssey we're going to be showing you how to install the Road Master diode wiring kit with the seven wire to six wire flexocoil, part number is RM-15267. This is going to allow us to use two sources of signal to control the one light. When we're operating our vehicle as normal we're going to have the input from our vehicle light. As we're flat towing our vehicle and we want our motor home signal we'll be able to use this signal from our motor home light. This diode is going to prevent any kind of back feeding, so our motor home won't make a loop and feed into our car and vice versa. The car's not going to feed into the motor home. more

Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2008 Honda CRV we will be having a look at and installing the Hopkins custom taillight wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number HM56300. Here's what our Hopkins wiring looks like installed. It gives us a four-pole flat connector at the front of our CRV and plugs into our factory taillight connectors without having to do any cutting or splicing, and will utilize our factory light bulbs and the taillight assemblies to treat our vehicle as a trailer when it's being flat-towed behind our motor home. This way we don't have to deal with having magnetic tow lights on the roof of it or messing with the vehicle's factory wiring, potentially voiding our warranty or causing damage to it. Now this gives us our functions that are required by law in order to safely flat-tow our vehicle behind our motor home. That way we can let other drivers know behind us if we're going to be making a turn, or they can see us clearly at night with the taillights on. We have our taillights off of the brown wire. The yellow wire is our left turn signal and left brake light. more

Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2014 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2014 Honda CR-V, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number RM-152-LED. Our Roadmaster LED light kit is going to allow us to have all the necessary lights when we're flat towing our car behind a motor home and still be able to signal the drivers behind us whether we're stopping or turning, making sure that we're safe. The nice thing about these lights is, is it completely bypasses your vehicle's original lights. As you can see in here, we have a separate light from our factory bulb. The reason why this is great is because we don't have to worry about overloading our vehicle's electrical system or any kind of warranty issues that may arise. The LED bulbs that we're going to use, they burn brighter, last longer, and activate faster than incandescent bulbs. We know that with these LEDs, they're going to last us a long time and they generate less heat than incandescent bulbs so we don't have to worry about any damage that might occur to our taillight housing. more

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, we'll be having a look at and installing the Roadmaster tail light wiring kit with bulbs, part number RM-155. Here's what our bulb and socket kit looks like installed. What this kit allows us to do is have a tow vehicle lighting system installed on our vehicle, that is completely separate from the vehicles' lighting circuitry that's already existing. We don't have to worry about cutting our wiring putting diodes in place. This will isolate our vehicles electrical system completely, treating it just like a trailer with a separate bulb. What's great about this kit compared to using a magnetic tow lights is, you don't have to worry about putting on top of your vehicle, scratching your paint when removing them or with a removed round or having them fall off or someone take them. more

We're not going to have to worry about it looping back around and heading back up this wire; that's called back feeding.
